Unlock the mystery of cold process soap making with this in-person workshop. Jo will introduce you to some of the beautiful butters and oils available and what each of these brings to your bar of soap. You will learn about essential oils, botanicals and colours and other additives, as you use these to create your own personal bars of soap.
Included in workshop:
Learn about the method of cold process soap making.
Learn about beautiful natural butters and oils and how to use these to create your own soap recipe.
Create your own a 1+kg of cold process soap to take home and keep.
A 1+kg soap mold to set your soap in. This is for you to keep and hopefully reuse when making your own bars of soap at home.
All equipment, ingredients and PPE to safely make your soap.
A light lunch with tea, coffee and refreshments throughout the workshop.
The workshop will kick off at 9am and will run for 5-6 hrs including a light lunch.

Are you wanting to learn how to make body butters with all natural ingredients? Then this is the course for you. You will learn the principles and processes to make your own body butters and how to pair this with beautiful essential oils, botanicals and other possible additives to upscale your product. You will learn how to make 2 different body butters which you can take home with you at the end of the workshop.
The workshop will include:
Overview of oils and butters to help you choose the right ones for you.
Introduction to essential oils, botanicals, colours, natural preservatives and other additives.
Learn to make 2 different natural body butters and take home around 250g of your personalised body butter.

Soap by Jo would never have existed if I hadn’t got sick a few years ago. I had been making soap for a while, and I was loving being able create something that was a blend of science and art. I have always had a love of science, but art does not come naturally. So, my soaps are a work of love. They are at times a little rustic, but they are made with quality oils and butters that make a beautiful bar of soap.
When I got sick, I couldn’t stand long enough or move fast enough to make a block of soap. For those of you who have never made cold process soap, it takes around 2-3 hours to make a relatively simple recipe, then 4-6 weeks to dry.
In an effort to find a way to use all of soap my ingredients in other ways, I decided to try my hand at body products. I quickly fell in love with all things for the skin and it became part of my daily rehabilitation program. I was driven to try to recreate luxury beauty products without the use of artificial ingredients. This isn’t always easy, and I spend lots of time researching, trialing and testing to make products that act and feel like their synthetic counterparts. But it is all great fun!
All our ingredients are sourced from Australian suppliers, and wherever possible, they are certified organic. I also regularly raid gardens to pick the freshest of botanicals - thanks Anth, Brent and Linda! All of our products are hand crafted in our home in Oxley, Brisbane.
My hope is that you enjoy trialing and testing my products as much as I do!
